Mr. Fan Mo, a second-year doctoral student currently studying at the University of Western Australia (UWA) under the Joint Degree Program (JDP), shares his experiences and research activities below.
During the second year of my PhD study at the University of Western Australia, my research has focused on developing and deploying microcontroller-based systems to continuously monitor plant height under simulated drought conditions. These experiments have been greatly boosted by UWA’s great research facilities, which provided the ideal controlled environments and technical labs for phenotyping measurements. Furthermore, the professional academic support and mentorship from my supervisors and technical staff have been invaluable in system establishment and refining my methodology, establishing a strong foundation for the upcoming data analysis phase.
